This is a slight modification of my last robot based on the question "If people had giant robots in a post-apocalyptic world, how would they trick them out?" I thought this potential for custom twists on robots was totally unexplored in the post-apocalyptic Gundam X (Damn you Ban-dai, release this in the US!!!!) and totally unexplained in GW: Endless Waltz, so I had to do it myself.
There's lots of little touches here that can make any rendering look good, like:
Light blooms off very bright surfaces (the white halos)
Bump maps: everything here is bumpmapped, smooth surfaces have a very manufactured look, something looks more real if it's imperfect.
Film Grain: Every frame of Final Fantasy: Spirits Within had a synthetic film grain applied to it to give it a genuine feel. The human eye expects this grain on photography since we are all so used it.
There was something else too but I totally forgot it!
Is this a revival? Will I start posting once more?!
yeah with all the time you'll have this summer (since you wont be hanging out with some one the hole time) you can do lots of cool thingys that are cool
